I have yet to meet the client who says, "I have so much time on my hands! I have all the time in the world to organize my kitchen, to shop at a few different stores to get the best groceries, and to prep fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for the whole family."
Every one of us--myself included!--is over-committed, over-scheduled and overly tied to our devices (and by proxy, our work). That said, we make time for the things that are important. When my clients tell me, "I don't have time to eat healthy," they're telling me, "Healthy eating is not a priority for me." These same clients drag themselves all over god's green earth to make sure their kids get to their events. They go out to eat. They keep up with their favorite TV shows. They spend insane amounts of time on social media.
Why isn't healthy eating a priority? For so many of us, we feel like our health can wait. There are too many other important things to take care of, so we put off taking care of our bodies until we can't ignore the feeling of being overtired and undernourished, or until our blood work shows the tell-tale signs. And even then, sometimes we still put off making changes to our eating habits because it feels overwhelming.
I invite you to prioritize your health today! What one small change can you make today to better your health? Perhaps that means swapping out diet soda for plain sparkling water, or adding a vegetable to your lunch every day. Or snacking on fruit instead of "fruit snacks."
