And now for #1 on my Top 10 countdown for reasons you may want to work with a health coach. Have you uttered or thought this sentence?
1. I know what I'm "supposed" to do, but I just can seem to do it.
We’re all busy. We’re all stretched thin. Add to this equation highly convenient, ridiculously palatable foods (ie sugary, salty, fatty manufactured to hit all the right spots in our brains) are within an arm’s reach 24/7. Muffins as big as our heads show up at morning meetings. Cookies and candies are fixtures in the breakroom. Salads are tossed with fried croutons and fatty salad dressing that obliterate any health value of the vegetables buried beneath. Smoothies spots promise quick and healthy snacks and deliver nothing short of milkshakes. Fast casual restaurants deliver artificial flavors, colors and preservatives in the oily, over-salted entrée items. And even our grocery stores are filled with only a small amount of actual food and a whole lot of food-like substances making lots of confusing health claims.
My clients aren’t unintelligent.
They don’t have moral failings.
But they need support in building new habits to eat a more nutritionally sound diet.
A health coach like me doesn’t just provide the educational resources to ensure that you do, in fact, “know” what you are “‘supposed’ to do.” I provide tools, encouragement and the accountability to help you do it.
Whether it’s a consult, a package of 12-sessions, or engagement for a year or more to tackle big health goals, a health coach can be the catalyst for serious life change.
